Glenavon FC is taking a stand today by launching a significant campaign aimed at ending violence against women and girls. This initiative is launched in memory of Natalie McNally, who was tragically murdered in December 2022. Natalie's family is part of the Glenavon FC community, and the club stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time. The campaign also honors the memory of the 29 other women who have lost their lives in Northern Ireland since 2020. Glenavon FC's players, both male and female, have a powerful message for supporters: "Violence against women and girls – not in our name." This reflects the players' commitment to speaking out against any actions that harm or abuse women and girls.
Manager Michael O’Connor emphasized the importance of this campaign, stating, "Glenavon FC is standing together to say, 'Enough is Enough.' We urge our supporters and visitors to join us in ending all forms of violence, abuse, or harm against women and girls. Together, we can create a respectful and dignified environment at Mourneview Park, making all of us winners." Before today's home game, the club will present a video to launch the campaign, encouraging everyone to show their support and respect for the cause. Glenavon FC invites everyone to stand with them under the banner of the #NotInOurName campaign, promoting a safe and respectful community for all.
